Mobile Culture in Brazil: Creative Uses of Mobile Technologies in Art, Games, and Low-Income Communities
Based on a decade of empirical research in Brazil, Professor Adriana de Souza e Silva (North Carolina State University) presents how mobile media artists, game developers and resource constrained communities creatively appropriate cell phones and location-based technologies to ultimately re-create space and social interaction.

Professor Didur presented as a keynote speaker at the Université de Montréal’s graduate conference, “Zones of Dispersion: Wandering Bodies and Identities.” Her talk was entitled “Walk This Way : Postcolonial Travel Writing of the Environment,” and was moderated by Livia Monnet.
